Saray Design was commissioned to create 600 original hand carved red sandstone jali screens and four hundred carved teak window screens for this exclusive beachfront retreat on the Costa Careyes in southwestern Mexico.
It is hard to overstate the impact that this seminal project has had on the revival of stone carving in the western Indian state of Rajasthan. When Sir James commissioned the work, there were only two stone carving workshops in the small village of Sikandra. As a direct result of the Mexico project, there are now more than six hundred, and the stone carving industry is thriving throughout the region.
